Day 9 of Reading The Purpose Driven Life

Since pleasing God is the primary purpose of your life, the next step is to figure out how to do it. The Bible says, "Figure out what will please Christ and then do it". Let's look at NOAH who gives us a perfect illustration of pleasing God.

In his days, when the world was morally bankrupt, Noah stood out. He consistently followed God's will and enjoyed a close relationship with him.

He trusted God completely. Even when it didn't make sense at that time, Noah still built a ship in the middle of dry land. Imagine it took him 120years to finish the project. After this long most us would have given up yet Noah saw the project through. Trusting God completely means having faith that He knows what is best for your life.

He made God smile by obeying him wholeheartedly. He followed God's prescription to detail. The size of the ship, the materials used, how to build. Everything he did as God had commanded. Most of us have partial obedience, we pick and choose the commands to obey.

God smiles when we express our adoration and gratitude to him. Noah lived with a heart of praise and thanksgiving. His act after the flood was to express thanks by offering sacrifice to God.

God smiles when we use our abilities. Every human activity (playing, working, interacting with friends), except sin can be done for God's pleasure if you do it with an attitude of praise. God enjoys watching every detail of you're life.

Can social distancing prevent the spread COVID-19 in Uganda?

Source: Petrol/CanStockPhoto In a country where most people live hand to mouth, and most business rely on daily consumer spend, advising people to stay home isn't viable. The brutal truth about social distancing is that people will loose wages and jobs. This will change the course of their lives in a traumatic way. We need to be able to sacrifice for each other, not only for the people who are vulnerable to Coronavirus but also to the people who maybe hurt and lose their livelihood as a result of social distancing. To some people losing their only source of survival is death in itself. Limiting social, prayer and political gathering to only 10 people while Owino, Kikuubo, Nakasero market, Nasser road and taxi parks(the most crowded places in Uganda) remain open is counter productive and defeats the understanding of many. It's similar to leaving your clothes in the dirt to dry after washing. And am not saying that these places should be closed, just pointing to the fla...

FROM ISLAM TO CHRISTIANITY: MY STORY OF COURAGE AND BOLDNESS

Every decision has consequences. Be aware! I knew it that once I take this path, questions will be raised and answers must be given. I was aware that people would be hurt, trust will get wings and takeoff, and relationships will break. I knew it for sure. Being a guy who also knew the impact of the statement "with time", I was sure that things would be normal again and acceptance would be preached after healing (which comes with time) has happened. Well I was dead wrong. Seven years on, nothing has changed much. It just takes me back to Easter Sunday of 2007 the day I made a decision that still hurts people up to now. It’s on this day, with a sound mind that I CHOOSE TO INVITE Jesus Christ in my life. A day before, I had mobilized and promised my pals that we would go to a drinking and a clubbing spree on Easter night. When I broke the news to my pals that the program was off because it was not in line with my new lifestyle, they were very disappointed. ...

FACE TO FACE WITH A PROMINENT WITCH

Going south  Early this month, I had planned a journey east across the country with a pal. It was for business and pleasure. If you asked what happened, instead I found myself to a journey this time, south of the country not even a thought ever occurred to me that I would be going to this part of the country not until later this year. I believe that it was divine though the actual cause of this sudden journey was very unfortunate. To me, it was attending the burial of my 4 months old nephew who had perished in an accident but to God it was an opportunity to minister His unfailing/ unconditional love to the people of that community. God guided me to free his people from the devil Many of them were hurt and angry with God, some were in total despair, a considerable number was sick while most of them were eager and hungry to hear the word of God. There was only one pastor who had been forced into compromise by a prominent witch. This witch comma...
