Why Setting Goals is Not Enough: The Art of Execution

Set Your Goals! Here We Go Again! Yes we know all that. Our coaches tell us to set our personal goals. We set the business strategy. We make New Years resolutions. Big deal! So why, despite the enormous effort we put into goal setting, are we just not hitting them. Because Goal Setting is The Easy Part We get excited about new possibilities, new plans, new opportunities. What a buzz! What an energy lift. And if we’re in a team, we begin to feel great about each other. But then what? We get busy, we put the plan away. Stuff comes up, priorities change. Excuses, excuses, excuses! The Key Reason You and Your Business Have Still Not Reached Your potential. Three words, that simple. Failure to execute-An unwillingness or inability to take action. Come on, you know you need to save, to invest; you just haven’t got around to it yet. You know you need to exercise every morning you just haven’t got around to it yet. So What Leads To This Failure? An inconsistent approach

STORIPOT LAUNCHED AMIDST CHEERS

Storipot homepage If you dont remember,  it started a few months ago. These dudes at dignited.com took the burden upon themselves to curate all Ugandan blogs. They asked us and we responded and  that time we tagged #UgBlogs in all our blog posts. I didn't know that it was going to be massive. What has swept me off the ground is the name. Thumbs up for whoever came up with it. It clearly depicts our heritage.  A pot  does all kinds of stuff.. from cooking to the obvious one- storage. Now storipot is a collection and storage of all Ugandan blogs. To be more precise,  consider it as a supermarket where you shop freely for all Ugandan stories  from technology,  business,  politics to lifestyle. After months and months of this pregnancy and enduring the unimaginable labour pains,  the baby has come out and on the 10th of December the baby was unveiled to the public at exactly 11:30pm For now,  you can forget about google or allafrica.com and embrace our very own new kid

Last night I was in a serious sausage mode and felt like this time I should prepare them on my own at home. I must admit that I have known only two methods of sausage preparations that is deep frying and roasting. WHY DO MAIDS MISTREAT OUR KIDS

An Indonesian maid that was mistreated and battered in Hong Kong I have been greatly disturbed and saddened by the excruciating violence of the house helper towards the innocent child we witnessed in an unknown video that has gone viral on the internet. The kicking, slapping and her 50kgs over the helpless child are unbearable and the video was not for the faint hearted to watch. I must admit that I have also had a second opinion about publishing this article after seeing the chastisement people with divergent opinion have been subjected to especially to Nakyeyune Joweria     who is also an aspiring MP for Kawempe North come 2016. Some of my friends have come up and warned me fearing that am putting my life in danger. After a second thought I have decided to publish it hoping you’ll find it helpful before hiring your next maid. I have also thoroughly edited this article to make it politically correct. As usual Ugandans took on the social media to give their opinions about t

THE RIDDLE OF PRIVATE IS BETTER!!

Most of us are more likely to chose private over public  If you live along Jinja highway and you have been observant, am sure you have noticed that 8 of the 10 sirens belong to the ambulances. Surprisingly we have more “private or donated by” ambulances than the entire government has provided. These days its very common to find our hospitals and health centers occupying the best buildings yet lack basic requirements to treat minor infections hence giving referrals to private clinics and pharmaceutical shops which are adequately facilitated....Private is better.   Recently the government decided that this country should be filled with scientists therefore enforcing science subjects on every male and female that decided to enroll for the local curriculum. The amazing thing is that public or government schools lack the facilities to make sure that this directive is successful. As a matter of fact am yet to find a fully public school that embarrasses me with good performanc

K2 TELECOM, STRATEGIZE OR DIE OUT

I must admit that I was compelled to write this after reading an article on dignited.com about how Smart Telecom is the new Warid based on their unrivaled data packages. Every company or person that plans to enter into a new market has to come with a well executable strategy on how to identify potential clients and eventually woe them to use their product or service. The greatest battle that this country has ever witnessed was probably between these two giant multinational corporations of Coca-Cola and Pepsi Cola. I would have detailed that more only that I was way too young to know how Coca cola a new entrant managed to take over the soft drink market. As the management at Pepsi was still puzzled, wondering how they lost their market share, another similar war was happening somewhere else. This time in the telecommunication sector (mobile to be specific). Before its entrance, MTN had realized that people need affordable handsets and cheap call rates. And that’s what they cap

WHAT YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT DR. MYLES MUNROE

I must say that I knew the existence of this great man right since 2009, I saw him a couple of times on TV though I never took time to listen to what he had to say until two years back when I decided to expose myself to his literature. This man had an extraordinary story of hope, courage and triumph, a story that has the capacity to bring lives out of despair. A matter of fact his story can light extinguished candles of hope in many lives. Like many of us, this hero began his life at a disadvantage. He was born poor, sleeping on the floor in rags in a 2 bedroom wooden house that his dad had built for the family of 11 children where he comes 6 th , in a lowest income end neighborhood of Benji- a village in the Islands of Bahamas. Dr. Myles was a very inquisitive child, asked more questions and because of his passion to know, he gained more knowledge than any of his siblings. He grew up struggling with self-worth battling the idea of being valuable and feeling important b
